8-year-old not stopping after success of first book (9 News Denver)(Dating News)

CASTLE ROCK â” What started as a simple daily writing assignment has turned into every writer’s dream for a third grade boy from Castle Rock. Alec spent many recesses “observing” the playground at Soaring Hawk Elementary School before writing his story. Teacher Anna Dupree believes kids have a distinct view of the world and writing allows them to showcase their talents. The entire school is so excited about Alec’s success there’s talk about starting an annual writing contest, publishing some of the stories, and donating profits from the sales to a sister school in need of extra support.
