SPEED dating has really taken off in Toowoomba as a great and quick way to meet new people. Speed Dating with Style coordinator Renata Schindler said it can be tough being single when your job is time-consuming, you have no single friends, and internet dating is too impersonal. For anyone who does not understand the concept, speed dating is essentially an event where an equal number of men and women in each age group spend 5-10 minutes with each member of the opposite sex. The rejection factor is significantly less because the event facilitator only gives out phone numbers when both people request to meet each other again.
