PICKSKIN PICKS: Banquets mean there’s a room full of people to hug (The Index-Journal)(Dating News)

Whiting, fresh from a full day at the office napping, presented The Index-Journal Academic Award, and he implored keynote speaker Perry Tuttle, a former Clemson star, to give me hug. Tuttle was at the banquet to offer advice to high school football players and to shill his new book, “What White People Want To Know About Black People But Are Afraid To Ask. Dixie assistant football coach and boys basketball coach Gary Gillion gave me a hug, but he really had no choice, because he wants favorable coverage this winter. A certain Emerald coach, whose name is never mentioned in my column, gave me a sideways hug, thus almost completing my list of people I hope to hug. Greenwood football coach Gene Cathcart (who surprisingly disappeared after the banquet despite my suggestion I’d see him afterward for a hug). read more
