We don’t require the services of a psychologist to tell us that the best relationships are those that are based on good communication. Yet, we seldom try to watch our conduct. We carry on along our paths, hopeful that somehow everything will fall into place. At times, it does thanks to the labors of our partners. But commonly it does not. We permit the fault lines to develop and reach a phase where they can no longer be bridged.

The first requirement to have good communication inside a relationship is to value each other. Men who deem their wives inferior can rarely, if ever, achieve good relationships. The same is true of women. If they look down upon their husbands then they can never dream to gain their confidence and affection.
