Global web services giant AOL recently launched the Indian version of Asylum, a popular international men’s lifestyle site in the US. Talking about the launch, PG Ponnapa, VP and GM, AOL India, says, “Based on the profile of the Internet users in India, we believe that a site with a modern urban flavour like Asylum will find many takers here. Launched in December 2007, in the US, Asylum is the Web’s most visited men’s lifestyle site, attracting nearly 3 million domestic unique visitors in April, according to comScore Media Metrix. After making its presence felt through 1,000 retail points across the country, Turtle, a men’s wear brand has now forayed into the international market.
