The 14 and 15-year old Sydney sunbathers, who used blue zinc cream to paint on their numbers, were photographed on Manly Beach in Australia . Manly Police Commander Dave Darcy advised the kids to reflect on the implications of sharing their numbers ┠and American child behavior experts agree. But above all, giving out cell phone numbers in such a manner invites trouble, she says. Girls this age are afraid of being rejected, says Jonathan Alpert , a Manhattan -based psychotherapist, and displaying a phone number in this way eliminates direct rejection. read more

Now that the conversion to a fancy new editorial computer system at the Erie Times-News is complete, my joy is tinged with a pang or two of nostalgia.
